Getting There


You can access Marcus Baker Glacier by ATV up along the northern side of the Knik River, into Grasshopper Valley, or by landing a plane in Grasshopper Valley. Beware crossing the Glacier Fork Knik River while passing around the north of Knik Glacier, or navigating Grasshopper Valley when the weather is warm to hot the run off can be pretty strong.

Depending on the time of year and snow quality on the glacier. Some pilots can land on Marcus Baker Glacier.

About

Heads on Mount Marcus Baker, trends west to its terminus at head of Glacier Fork, 29 miles southeast of Palmer, Chugach Mountains. (AK-T1)

Beginning in the Chugach Mountains, Marcus Baker Glacier flows off Mount Marcus Baker and a couple unnamed mountains, down into the Grasshopper Valley.

Dall Sheep, Mountain Goats, and Black Bear live in the areas surrounding the glacier.
