About

Steller's jays are medium size birds commonly found in Alaska as well as the rest of North America. They are a dark royal blue with black crowns.

They aren't too skiddish around humans but aren't nearly as friendly as their cousins grey jays.

Habitat & Range

Steller's jay are found throughout much of Alaska, they prefer to roost in trees and are found around most woods.

While Steller's jays are found in Alaska year-round they migrate south during winter, and can not be found year-round in their norther summer habitat.
