History

Name derived from Stone Rock and published in 1913 on U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) Chart 8074. According to P. S. Smith (in Brooks and others, 1914, p. 82), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), this feature was known locally as Mallard Bay. See Mallard Bay.
